In my mind this is the very essence of integrity; holding yourself to account to do the right thing even when others don’t know what choices you had available.
If we are honest with ourselves we do know what the right thing to do is in most circumstances – fear, uncertainty, need for security, ego – they all get in the way of “doing it”.
