Watching a movie on the way back from NZ the main character could go back in time and experience his days with a greater focus and intensity. He eventually got to a space in his life where he didn’t need to use his special power to go back and have his day over to experience its beauty.
Imagine if we could all undergo this kind of training to prepare ourselves for experiencing the real intensity and pleasure in our day. We don’t have the special power so we are going to have to do it the hard way. We have to “practise” in real life – by taking baby steps.
In your next meeting bring a level of mindfulness and sensitivity to truly experience every small and wonderful part of the meeting – notice when someone smiles and smile back; notice when someone shares something significant and acknowledge the importance of their point; thank participants for their contributions at the end of the meeting. It is the small stuff that is the big stuff.
Look for the good in your day – try it out – no need to imagine you have the secret power to go back in time!!
