I have read several articles over the last few months that combine ideas and ultimately call for a new set of capabilities to create success in organisations today.
These are capabilities beyond current leadership skills within organisations that enable digital disruption – allowing an obsession with customers; with data when making decisions; with agility when executing projects and with the development of a network of multiple business partners.
It has left me contemplating that the way we develop leadership capabilities for the future needs to be addressed – and then I find myself posing the question – are our existing leaders prepared to challenge the status quo that has so far delivered reasonable performance?
This is a dilemma we face in preparing organisations for the future – finding existing leaders who are prepared to embrace this kind of vulnerability!
